Dr Hong Tran is both an experienced obstetrician and gynaecologist.

She covers all aspects of pregnancy including IVF, high risk and twin / multiple births. She can guide you through all aspects of pregnancy from pre-pregnancy planning, and antenatal care including complex situations.

Being a mother of two young boys, Hong can provide practical advice and real life insights into the joys of motherhood. She gets enormous satisfaction in being involved in a couple’s journey through the pregnancy and delivery.

Hong also has expertise in a wide range of gynaecological services. This may range from contraceptive advice following delivery to managing menstrual problems, endometriosis, PCOS and vulval pathology. She is skilled in laparoscopy (key hole), open surgery, hysterectomy, fibroid surgery (myomectomy),hysteroscopy and ovarian pathology. In addition, she is proficient in all office gynaecological procedures including Mirena and Implanon insertion, and colposcopy for abnormal cervical screen.

Her special area of interest is vulval pathology. She is an integral member of the Vulval clinic at the Women’s hospital and a member of the Australian and NZ vulval society.

Hong’s patients will tell you she is personable, available, has a high attention to detail, is calm under pressure and perhaps most importantly genuinely cares for their wellbeing and that of their baby.
Outside of work, Hong loves to spend time with her husband and two little boys Aiden and Nathan. You will often see her at school sports or riding the bikes with her family. She has a soft spot for Korean dramas and some online shopping when she can fit it in.
